    Frequently asked questions

What is a Make + Wonder box?
Make + Wonder’s monthly art club boxes are for children aged 3-10 years old. They are a monthly art subscription box designed to spark your children's imagination and creativity. There are lots of ideas but no rules. The box is full of open-ended inspiration and tips to support children’s creativity.

How will the activities encourage my child to create?
Each box is focused on the process of exploring and creating art rather than the finished product, so children will not get frustrated trying to reproduce an adults design. Activities have been created by Qualified Primary School Teachers and are influenced by Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Loose Parts Play and process oriented art. Our boxes support the National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage in the UK.

What age is the art box for?
Our creative kits are designed for children aged 3-10 years old. But there is no age limit, older children and adults may enjoy creating too. The box contains resources that are unsuitable for children under three years of age to use. We have children of all ages who subscribe between 3-10 years. Younger children ( under 5's) will need help and support to set up the projects and make.

Do you include pictures of the artists work?
We can not include artists' work images in our art kits, as it would breach copyright rules. There are links to videos and pictures of their work. Each month we also include an illustration of the artist and their work created by an artist we commision.

Are your boxes just for girls?
No! We designed Make + Wonder with girls and boys in mind. We feel like it is important for all kids to learn from the lives and experiences of creative women.

Why doesn't Make + Wonder feature men?
We believe that all art is important , but what inspired us to start Make + Wonder was the lack of strong female artists and their stories. We want Make + Wonder to be the place to share the stories and art of creative women.

Do you make boxes for groups of children?
Yes we can make art boxes for groups of children to use. These are perfect for playdates or parties. Email us at nicola@makeandwonder.com to get a price.
