All About Make + Wonder
What is a Make + Wonder box?
Make + Wonder’s monthly art club boxes are for children aged 3-10 years old. They are a monthly art subscription box designed to spark your children's imagination and creativity. There are lots of ideas but no rules. The box is full of open-ended inspiration and tips to support children’s creativity.
How will the activities encourage my child to create?
Each box is focused on the process of exploring and creating art rather than the finished product, so children will not get frustrated trying to reproduce an adults design. Activities have been created by Qualified Primary School Teachers and are influenced by Reggio Emilia, Montessori, Loose Parts Play and process oriented art. Our boxes support the National Curriculum and the Early Years Foundation Stage in the UK.
What age is the art box for?
Our creative kits are designed for children aged 3-10 years old. But there is no age limit, older children and adults may enjoy creating too. The box contains resources that are unsuitable for children under three years of age to use. We have children of all ages who subscribe between 3-10 years. Younger children ( under 5's) will need help and support to set up the projects and make.
Are your boxes just for girls?
No! We designed Make + Wonder with girls and boys in mind. We feel like it is important for all kids to learn from the lives and experiences of creative women.
Why doesn't Make + Wonder feature men?
We believe that all art is important , but what inspired us to start Make + Wonder was the lack of strong female artists and their stories. We want Make + Wonder to be the place to share the stories and art of creative women.
Do you make boxes for groups of children?
Yes we can make art boxes for groups of children to use. These are perfect for playdates or parties. Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to get a price.

My girl who is 3.5 years old absolutely love the art box just like any other kids do! I particularly enjoy a little walk we made to the park and along way we collected many colourful flowers and leaves for making her own masterpiece. She was drawn to flowers and plants and little bugs she saw along our "treasure hunt". I very much enjoy appreciating the nature and exploring her potential in art development with her. I can't wait to receive and dive into our next art box!
I ordered this for my 7 year old daughter. I love that ideas are given instead of instructions. My daughter has always loved being creative without drawing in the lines! These art boxes are wonderful, it’s not only educational but incredibly well thought out. Throughout this week we have been sitting together and exploring the contents of this box. I will be purchasing more as birthday presents for her friends!
I ordered this themed craft box for a number of reasons. Firstly my 6 yo was getting board with our current craft box and the creations usually ended up in the bin. And secondly the theme, I really loved the idea that the boxes were curated around a theme and that theme being a particular female artist.
We were not disappointed at all. The box arrived and was opened to squeals and questions of ‘when can we start’ is can unreservedly say it was an absolute hit.
Lovely box, the perfect gift for a birthday present
Loved opening our box of delights, great quality and interesting activities with background to the artist. My daughter is really enjoying it.
My normally super-controlling colour-inside-the-lines 9 year old had an absolute blast with this kit today. She really enjoyed experimenting with layering techniques, adapting her design as she went and just really enjoying the creative process instead of stressing over making it “perfect”. And we still have tons of leftover materials to try again tomorrow! Am a massive fan of what you do, thank you!
Bought this for a 12th birthday present for an arty girl. She loved it.
my daughter loved it and so did I. We had so much fun with all the Kusama inspired craft. I was incredibly impressed how easy is for my 4yrs old to learn this way, she now identifies anything with polka dot as a Kusama artworks :). This is such an amazing idea can wait to order my next one.
This is a really great company providing resources that I know my grandchildren will love doing with me when they visit.
I bought these as a gift for a special little friend. She was so pleased so I am too! I will be buying them again.. and again I’m sure!!
